FIRED UP FIGURES 2006 Guelph Sculpture Group Sale and Exhibition This Exhibition showcases figurative work done by a group of sculptors who have recently participated in ongoing sculpture sessions in Guelph. Fall 2004 was a busy time!
In September we celebrated the arts with the Festival Art Show and sale at the Dufferin County Museum. The show opened with a spectacular Launch Party on September 25th and continued to October 11th.
On the same weekend the Hills of Erin Studio Tour, listed with the Headwaters Art Festival as well as with our own brochure was open to visitors.
The Caledon Centre for Culture and Education presented the juried Home&Heart Show – The Art Show on October 1 – Oct. 11th.
A very special event was celebrated with an opening party on October 2nd. Deca Dance at the Williamsmill in Glen Williams. Running from October 2 – November 7th this show brought together artists from the past and present having studio space at the Mill.
Hills Of Erin Studio just completed another succesful
weekend on September 25th and 26th.
Right now I am working mainly on prints. "Ancient Dances", a print created for a fundraising project that benefits the proposed Elora Arts Center, was the start of this series. The challenge: make art out or with an old window. My solution was to mount 6 prints behind the 6 glass panes, alternating 2 different versions of "Ancient Dances". This worked so well that I decided to make a second version for myself. This piece can be seen at the Art Gallery of Mississauga until February.
New this year! I am working with Geoffrey Stevens Sculpture Group. Can my dancers work in three dimensions? Geoffrey will raku my figures.
The Lion and the Rose Gallery in Winnipeg will be showing some of my prints.
